Safety

Your safety is our number one concern and that is why we provide kayak support on every Royal Gorge trip as well as providing all of the necessary river gear free of charge.

Although not all companies offer free gear use, we feel as though it is an essential option for both your safety and comfort. Our gear is always free and is all top of the line!

Helmets are required on every trip for your safety on most sections of river.

Children

All of our wetsuits, river boots, splash jackets, and pfd's (life jackets) are available in youth sizes to suit any sized rafter so your children will be well equipped.

 

Our Guides

All of our guides are not only highly experienced river guides who love and take pride in the experience they provide, but are avid kayakers and well schooled in Whitewater Water Rescue techniques. All R.G.R. guides have at least 4 years whitewater experience with most exceeding 12 years whitewater know-how. We recognize overall that experience counts! Ours & yours.

Owner / Operator Jimmy James Whiteside has been a commercial river guide for over 19 years and has helped build the fastest growing company on the busiest and most competitive river in the United States. In 2004 he guided more commercial river trips through the Royal Gorge than any other commercial river guide. La te da....  

He has worked as a safety kayaker and as a whitewater raft guide in four different countries. In that time recording well over 35,000 river miles. 

Jimmy loves and takes his job of sharing the river seriously and that is why he has been actively involved in river guide instruction, white water kayak instruction, whitewater rescue skills and sharing the rivers that he loves with others since 1991. He now lives in Canon City, Colorado full time focusing on making Royal Gorge Rafting the best value and experience in rafting and hopes to share the beauty and excitement of the Arkansas River & rivers around the world with you and your family.

 

Owner / Operator Ty Seufer

Began guiding on the Arkansas River at Royal Gorge Rafting in 1986. After a 15-year break Ty & his family decided to return to Canon City to bring new life to Royal Gorge Rafting along with opening the immediately popular White Water Bar & Grill. "My goal is to make Royal Gorge Rafting and the White Water Bar & Grill the most memorable summertime vacation destination in Colorado as well as making your time spent with us the clear highlight of your vacation!"
