The Bighorn Sheep Canyon is a beautiful and classic stretch of river often referred to as "the Grand Canyon of the Arkansas". This section is a great place for your first rafting experience and for those experienced alike. You will challenge thrilling awe-inspiring rapids such as 3 Rocks, Spike Buck, Sharks Tooth, and Wake Up! You will find tranquil and calm areas to relax in as well. Our promotion escorted by way of the Historic Royal Gorge Route Railroad will start at 9:00am at the Train Depot in Canon City. Your railway adventure will depart at 9:30am.
After your 2 hour scenic tour through the Royal Gorge via rail you will check into our office at Royal Gorge Rafting at 12:45pm to get ready for your rafting adventure. We encourage you to have lunch with us at the White Water Bar & Grill located at our base location as that will give you plenty of time to enjoy your afternoon lunch hour.
Should you choose to ride the train on an alternate day you may pick any departure time available for the Royal Gorge Route Railway. Railway departure times are the 9:30 am, 3:30 pm or the 7:00 pm departures from the Santa Fe Depot in Canon City.
